Quadrupole Microwave Diagnostics of Azimuthally Asymmetric Plasma Formations

The study of high-temperature plasma, aimed mainly at controlled thermonuclear installations, has been mainly facilitated by the development of a number of microwave measurement methods called “microwave diagnostics”. The main objectives are to install plasma 2, 3, and 4 (metal (Al), Hg-Ar, and He-Ne plasma formations) in the laboratory UNIRS of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and study microwave behavior of plasma to better comprehend its properties. When a microwave with a millimeter wavelength passes through plasma, the properties of the microwave change. The receiver receives this changing wave, and we can infer the properties of the plasma by interpreting the receiver's output. The paper presents the results of research on the determination of the distribution of the concentration of charged particles in an azimuthal inhomogeneity of a cylindrical plasma formation in the range of specific powers (32… 50) W/s-3 using the method of microwave horn diagnostics.
