Rational Capacity of 10/0.4 kV Distribution Transformers (on the Example of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar)

For actively developing countries with a high degree of population electrification growth, the effective power supply system's construction at the voltage of 10 kV and 380 V becomes an urgent issue. The results of optimized calculations of the Western countries of the world and the USSR, obtained several decades ago, are impossible to apply due to completely different construction principles of cities and populated points in rural areas. In this article, on the example of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, a model of the average length of 380 V distribution network line is obtained. Based on the average line length, an expression of the main criterion for the efficiency of power supply system's construction is formed – a minimum of specific discounted costs. For numerical values of parameters corresponding to the conditions of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the values of the rational capacity of 11/0.4 kV transformers are obtained. A simplified expression is proposed to determine this capacity.
