Assessment of the Possibility of Using Adaptive Control of the Water-Chemical Regime at Thermal Power Plants

This paper examines existing water chemistry management systems, showing the need for their modernization in order to prevent deviations from standard values, forecasting and issuing advices to the operator. The importance of implementing water-chemical regime control systems and creating adaptive systems for chemical-technological monitoring of water and steam quality is noted. The calculation results show that the adapted settings of the regulator and compensator cope more effectively with changes in the regulated object, reducing the control time and increasing the degree of attenuation. In order to analyze the efficiency of a system with an adaptation block, the results of a comparison of methods for calculating the settings of a proportional-integral (PI) controller are presented, namely through the minimum of the quadratic integral criterion with a limitation on the stability margin and through an auxiliary function with a similar limitation. The assessment of the possibilities of using adaptive control of the water chemical regime showed that the introduction of adaptability leads to an improvement in the quality of regulation at power plants of thermal power plants.
