Modeling Digital Document Flow Processes with Stochastic Timed Petri Nets

Since the relevance of digital document management systems is constantly increasing annually, the main goal of developing such systems is to maintain high security, efficiency, and reliability standards. The main focus is on processes execution management rather than managing data flow processes because timely execution of processes is critical. This paper presents a method that incorporates time and probability models to address security, efficiency, and reliability concerns. Utilizing stochastic timed Petri nets, known for their versatility in modeling complex discrete systems, this approach models document-based workflow management systems with time constraints, using probabilistic models for a more accurate representation of real processes. An example process of topic approval demonstrates the applicability of this model.
