Features of Mufflers Simulation in the Presence of a Grazing Flow

The analysis of works devoted to the use of numerical simulations of reactive noise mufflers in a grazing flow, which have been performed in the software systems ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, COMSOL Multiphysics, was carried out. The influence of the turbulent flow models Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) and Large Eddy Simulation (LES) on the results of numerical simulations is considered. The examples of calculating acoustic characteristics of noise muffler elements with the RANS model in the COMSOL Multiphysics environment are given.
