The Influence of Meteorological Factors on the Electrical Load of Residential Buildings

This article is devoted to the problem of the influence of outside air temperature and cloudiness on the power consumption of multi-apartment residential buildings. The accuracy of determining the calculated loads of consumers significantly affects the technical and economic indicators of power supply systems. To solve this problem, a study of the dependences of outside air temperature and cloudiness on the power consumption of multi-apartment residential buildings was carried out. The initial data for the analysis were the results of measurements for 3 years every 30 minutes at the entrances of 7 multi-story residential buildings in the Moscow region. As a result of processing the data array, ranges with a certain outside temperature and cloudiness were compiled for each building. Daily load graphs were constructed for summer days with different ranges of the meteorological factors under consideration. The results found that on weekdays, temperature and cloudiness tend to affect power consumption. Over the weekend, no consistent trends in the dependence of electricity consumption on meteorological factors were identified. The results obtained will be useful to specialists involved in forecasting energy consumption and designing power supply systems.
