Condensation of Water from a Vapor-Air Mixture on a Surface with Annular Round Straight Ribs of Constant Thickness

In this paper, it is proposed an overview of the current literature on solutions in the field of condensation on surfaces of various shapes. The case of condensation of a mixture of steam and air on a round edge of constant thickness is considered. The main dependencies that need to be supplemented with the Navier-Stokes equations and the continuity equations to solve the problem are shown. A three-dimensional computational model is constructed and the grid structure of the flow area is presented. The estimation of the heat transfer coefficient during condensation of the vapor-air mixture on a round rib of constant thickness is carried out. An equation is obtained that allows calculating the heat transfer coefficient on a 1 mm thick round edge made of steel with a thermal conductivity coefficient of 48 W/(m∙K) with a diameter of 27-43 mm, with a change in the mass fraction of steam in the range of 0.15-0.35. A picture of the movement of the formed condensate on the edge is visualized. The fundamental difference of the structure is shown, the films formed on the edges of relatively large and relatively small height.
