Study of Optic Gas Sensor Calibration Problems

This paper provides a comparative analysis of various types of gas sensors according to the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ). The prospects of developing an optical type sensor are validated. The existing methods for constructing the sensor calibration curve and the possibility of their use for calibrating an engineering prototype of the sensor are considered. The calibration results were analyzed using various methods, and the repeatability of the obtained gas concentration values for various methods of constructing the sensor curve was experimentally verified. A new calibration algorithm is proposed in connection with the temperature dependence of the sensor output characteristics. The experimentally obtained transfer function of an optical gas sensor takes into account temperature drift, but demonstrates non-stationarity. A comparison and analysis of two calibration methods that take into account the temperature drift of the sensor output signal is carried out.
