Nuclear Power Plant Image Formation Conditions

This paper underscores the necessity of actively shaping a positive image for Russian nuclear power plants due to prevailing societal negativity towards their construction. The purpose of the study is to develop principles for the formation of a general and environmental image of nuclear power plants. The methodology of the work is based on the study of the characteristics of the population mass consciousness. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the consequences of accidents that caused a wide public outcry. The need to assess such events on the IAEA scale from the standpoint of professional skepticism is emphasized. It is proposed to form a positive image of the NPP based on solving problems affecting the vital interests of the population. It is pointed out the need for state support of the Russian nuclear energy in the form of active imagemaking to ensure competitiveness in the international market.
