Analysis of the Selection of the Cold Plasma Device Therapeutic Electrode Electrical Characteristics

In this research for specific therapeutic effects in dermatology, mathematical modeling of the barrier discharge ignition process on the human skin surface was conducted. The modeling aimed to investigate the influence of the dielectric material of the therapeutic electrode on the processes occurring in the discharge at various plasma generation powers for different skin conditions. The research revealed that when the discharge plasma interacts with a thin section of skin tissue with relatively high dielectric permittivity at high generation powers, it can be recommended to use a dielectric electrode material with relatively low electrical resistance and capacitance to limit the current density in the discharge. Otherwise, the application of non-thermal plasma to affected skin areas would be considered as a method of darsonvalization.
