Modeling of Two-Phase Flow Using STEG Code with Module for Calculating Interfacial Area Transport

As part of the development of the STEG (STEam Generator) code, an interfacial area transport model in a two-phase flow is developed and implemented in the code. Results of validation of the newly created version of the code on experimental data on two-phase flows in a vertical pipe show a noticeable improvement in the predictive ability of the STEG code for the range of low gas and liquid velocities. In the range of high gas and liquid velocities, the results obtained by both codes are close to each other. Cross-verification of the new version of the STEG code with the another thermal-hydraulics code is also carried out. Reasonable agreement is obtained between the calculated data obtained using these codes and their agreement with the experimental values.
