Liquid-Phase Reduction Reactor with a Carbon-Hydrogen Mixture

This paper presents the results of the calculation of a continuous steelmaking unit with a capacity of 35 tons of iron per hour. For the investigated installation, an equilibrium calculation of the methane consumption was carried out, providing a degree of iron reduction equal to 99%, into the working space of the furnace using the proven IVTANTERMO software package. It was found that to ensure a given performance, a reducing agent consumption of 3.07 m

/s is required. The composition and volume of the slags formed after the recovery are determined, the composition and volume of gases after the recovery of iron ore are presented, its lower and higher heat of combustion are calculated. The theoretical prerequisites for obtaining an ARMCO-iron melt in one stage are presented. Also, to visualize the obtained geometry of a continuous steelmaking unit, its sketches and a 3-d model were developed in the SolidWorks software package.
