A Digital Twin Watershed Three-dimensional Solid Topography Data Backplane Creation Method

In response to the defects of non-editability and poor coordination of the watershed GIS based on digital elevation model construction, a method for creating a digital twin watershed three-dimensional solid terrain data backplane is proposed. The method involves preprocessing DEM data and utilizing visual programming to triangulate the terrain data points, thereby forming a three-dimensional solid terrain along the boundaries. It enables Boolean operations between the solid entities, ultimately creating a parameterizable watershed terrain data backplane. By selecting the "Model Yellow River" measured cross-section to simulate the sedimentation and erosion of the river channel under the flood peak flow rate, it is demonstrated that compared with the traditional cross-section analysis method, the three-dimensional river channel solid model can more intuitively display the distribution of sedimentation and erosion in the river channel, as well as the migration of the riverbed. Through the Boolean operations between the topography solids, the amount of sedimentation and erosion in the river channel can be quickly calculated to obtain real-time changes in the river channel. This method of terrain creation serves as a reference for the construction of a digital twin watershed terrain data backplane.
