Research on Electromagnetic Shielding Methods Based on SAR Image Simulation

With the increasing sophistication of radar systems, radar stealth technology has become increasingly important for battlefield targets. Due to some targets having fixed shapes and large volumes, it is difficult to completely cloak them using material stealth technology. It is necessary to study the distribution of strong scattering positions of the targets and apply stealth material coatings to these important positions to reduce the overall Radar Cross Section (RCS) of the targets, decrease the probability of radar detection, and enhance the survivability of the targets. This paper takes a certain type of aircraft target as an example, establishes a target model, and uses FEKO software to simulate the target's SAR images. By analyzing SAR simulation images at different angles, the distribution of the target's strong scattering positions is obtained. The paper also simulates and compares the changes in the overall radar scattering characteristics of the target before and after stealth treatment at these strong scattering positions.
