Collaborative Optimization Measurement Method for Network Topology

Cyberspace is the second space for human production and life, and also an important frontier of national sovereignty. As a “map” describing the distribution and connection of cyberspace elements, network topology is the basis for people to understand, utilize and manage cyberspace. Aiming at the problem of high redundancy of path probing in network topology discovery, which causes resource waste and network congestion, this paper proposed a collaborative probing method to optimize network topology measurement in large-scale. Compared to the traditional method, the proposed method is able to decrease the cost by more than 76% while remaining more than 80% link discovery rate and more than 96.5% node discovery rate. This study has practical significance for understanding the structure of cyberspace, improving the performance of cyberspace management and control, and enhancing the capability of confrontation in cyberspace.
