Research on the Directionality of a Cylindrical Array of Transducers Used for Navigation Type Ultrasound Catheters

In this paper, a cylindrical array transducer structure composed of rectangular elements with radial vibration mode was proposed. The cylindrical array was equivalent to a combination of linear and convex arrays by a step-by-step method. Using the directionality function as an evaluation criterion, transducers with different element sizes, quantities, and spacing were tested, analyzed, and compared for their directionality. It lays a foundation for using SRCNN algorithm to control the Image resolution to be almost constant in the depth range, and helps to quickly determine the suitable transducer cylindrical array for generating left atrial images.
