Highway Traffic Flow Model Based on Control Theory

Based on the macro-second-order traffic flow model and the control theory, this paper describes the relationship between vehicle density, traffic flow and average vehicle speed per unit section in a specific road section over time, calculates the on-ramp traffic flow, uses iterative learning control method to limit on-ramp flow, and adopts dynamic speed limit to effectively alleviate traffic jams and ensure efficient operation of expressways.
