A User-Configurable and High-Reliability Transmission Design

In order to solve the soft errors caused by the physical interaction of radiation particles with the device during data transmission, and at the same time to ensure the high reliability of data transmission, a user-configurable design for highly reliable transmission is proposed. Firstly, based on ten Gigabit Ethernet PHY controller, pseudo random bit stream generator and detector, bit error rate detector, watchdog and other modules are designed. Secondly, the gearbox is upgraded to design a highly reliable gearbox that satisfies the dynamic switching between Even Parity check and single error correction-double error detection-triple adjacent error detection (SEC-DED-TAED) codes check. Asynchronous FIFO receiving end data in the gearbox is checked and corrected, even parity code is used in the checking stage; SEC-DED-TAED codes is used in the correcting stage to correct one error, and to detect two random errors and three neighbouring errors. Finally, in order to realize that the user can configure the verification mode of PHY controller, configurable registers are designed at the PCS layer, and the MDIO interface is used to access and write to the registers. The design of RTL level module is completed using Verilog language. The simulation and verification platform is built, and the functional verification is carried out using Modelsim software. Then the results verify the high reliability of the designed model for data transmission.
