An Equivalent Modeling Method for Modular DC Energy Dissipation Device

The complex simulation calculation process and slow solving speed are important factors that constrain the development of modular multi-level device simulation modeling. In this paper, the equivalent modeling of modular DC energy dissipation devices is analyzed, and a simplified modeling method based on the Thevenin equivalent is proposed. The proposed method equates the modular DC energy dissipation device bridge arm to a Thevenin equivalent circuit, which can accurately simulate the equivalent circuit of the locked bridge arm while significantly reducing the number of computing network nodes. The established mathematical model has been verified through the Rudong HVDC project simulation model.
