Research on a portable wireless detection system for electrocardiogram signals

In recent years, with the accelerated pace of life, cardiovascular diseases have emerged as the greatest threat to human life and health. The onset of such diseases is usually unpredictable and quickly fatal. Therefore, the monitoring of ECG signals has received more and more attention as the primary means of diagnosing cardiovascular diseases. The study of realizing a portable ECG monitor capable of long-term, accurate, and real-time ECG signal acquisition is of great significance for the early treatment of cardiovascular diseases and for reducing morbidity and mortality. This paper proposes a wireless detection method of ECG signal based on non-contact ECG measurement, electronic skin, and wireless signal transmission technology. In this method, firstly, non-contact integrated electrodes and sensor circuits are combined using the e-skin technology to develop a skin-like thin film attached to the human skin. The sensor circuit then wirelessly transmits the detected ECG signals to the reading circuit via a coupling coil. Finally, the readout circuit detects the received ECG signals by phase detection. Simulation experiments show that the designed wireless detection system for ECG signals can achieve the extraction of ECG signals.
