Mainly, the thesis proposes an objective approach to assess the blur-noise consequences of different compression codecs for virtual images based totally on analyzing the structural similarity. This technique is validated by making use of compressing JPEG (Joint Photographic specialists group), Web and BPG (better transportable graphics) codecs and measuring the blur-noise of the compressed pictures with the structural similarity index (SSIM). The consequences are analyzed in phrases of JPEG artifacts, blackness and ringing results. The consequences indicate that Web provides better blur-noise best than JPEG and BPG plays particularly better than both.
