Dual-Band Fabry-Perot Resonant Cavity Antenna Based on the 3D-Printing

In this paper, a dual-band Fabry-Perot resonator cavity antenna design based on 3D-printing technology is presented. It consists of a metal wall, a partially reflective surface (PRS) with $5 \times 5$ double-layer periodic elements and an impedance matching layer with a tapered wedge aperture. A method of flexibly adjusting the PRS reflection coefficient in-band to form dual frequencies is proposed, which is achieved by overlaying a metal layer and a dielectric layer. The antenna operates in two bands of E-band (71-76,81-86 GHz). Simulated results of the proposed antenna demonstrate an impedance bandwidth of 24.1% (69.5-88.5 GHz) and the peak gains of 16.3dBi and 16.0dBi at 73 and 84GHz, respectively.
