Simultaneously Low Infrared Emissivity and Laser Scattering Reduction Based on All-metal Metasurface

In this paper, an all-metal metasurface is proposed to achieve simultaneously low infrared emissivity and laser scattering reduction. The low infrared emissivity is realized based on Kirchhoff’s law and low emissivity material is used to construct the metasurface. The laser scattering reduction is achieved based on the phase cancellation of the metasurface. Two unit cells with 180° phase difference are designed, and then a metasurface array with chessboard-like phase distribution is designed and simulated. The simulated metasurface achieves an ultralow infrared emissivity in 3-14μm and laser scattering reduction at 1.06μm. The proposed concept provides new ideas for the design and application of laser-infrared compatible camouflage metasurfaces.
