Measurements and Characterization of Reflection and Transmission Propagation of LOW-E Glass for mmWave Communications in Smart Buildings

This paper presents experimental measurements of transmission and reflection loss for Low-Emissivity (LOW-E) glass in the frequency range of 26.5-40 GHz for millimeter-wave (mmWave) Communications in smart buildings. The results indicate that LOW-E glass demonstrates a higher level of transmission loss compared to traditional glass, with a 20 dB increase. Moreover, the reflection loss of LOW-E glass is comparable to that of traditional glass.
