Multi-Functional Dual-Polarized Digital Metasurface For Meter-Level WPT Applications

A dual-polarized reflection reconfigurable digital metasurface operating at C-band with the near-field focused property is proposed for meter-level wireless power transfer. The unit of the metasurface consists of two layers of the dielectric substrate and a middle metal ground, which is loaded with five independent metal patches and four PIN diodes. By controlling the on/off states of the PIN diodes, the phase of the unit can be manipulated as well within two different polarization modes. In addition, a $14 \times 14$ array based on the above unit structure is presented which is fed through a standard horn antenna. Simulation results show that the developed digital metasurface can realize multiple functions of dual-polarization radiations with two focal points which own the ability of power division at flexible positions.
