Design of Gap-Waveguide Antenna Array for 77 GHz Automotive Radar Characterization

In this paper, a novel design of 1×8 antenna array based on gap waveguide for 77GHz automotive radar characterization is presented. The structure of power division is realized by gap waveguide. Two kinds of array included in Transmitting and receiving is designed and simulated. The measured results about transmitting antennas show impedance bandwidth of 16% for a reflection coefficient lower than −10 dB, a gain of higher than 16 dBi and a sidelobe level below −13 dB in H-plane. The efficiency of antenna > 95% meets the requirement during the bandwidth of antenna
