A Comparative Analysis of FSPV-Grid Integrated and GMSPV-Grid Integrated System for Industrial Subsections

The term floating solar photovoltaic system (FSPV) refers to the evolution of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed on water bodies as a result of improvements in ground mounted solar photovoltaics (GMSPV) system. In this paper, different techno-economic parameters for proposed FSPV-grid integrated and GMSPV-grid integrated systems are compared for the two subsections of a steel plant located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The entire system has been simulated in HOMER energy software and the obtained results shows that the FSPV-grid integrated system has a great potential for the industries located near water bodies, despite of its high initial cost. However, the net present cost (NPC), Levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and pollutant emission obtained are low in case of FSPV-grid integrated system.
