A Novel Metamaterial Absorber Unit Cell

This study proposes a metamaterial unit cell that exhibits high absorbing characteristic at the frequency of 14.45 GHz. Electrical size of 0.482λ x 0.482λ x 0.057λ was achieved for this absorber at the operating frequency. The properties of the presented unit cell have been studied by conducting full-wave simulation in Ansys HFSS. The simulation results indicate absorptivity of the structure. It is able to absorb incident EM signal with 99.8% absorption rate at the resonant frequency.
