Research and Application of Non-destructive Evaluation Method for Aging State of Distribution Network Cable

This project involves conducting thermal aging, water tree aging, and thermal composite aging tests on medium-voltage cables in distribution networks. Samples of the aged cables are prepared and subjected to a series of performance tests, including physical and chemical property tests and electrical performance tests. The study aims to investigate the aging mechanisms of water tree cables under different aging conditions and establish a water tree aging analysis model for medium-voltage cables in distribution networks. Non-linear response parameters were extracted from the Polarization and Depolarization Current (PDC) test data to reflect the aging trends and degree of aging in cables under non-aging conditions. A cable aging diagnostic technology based on the PDC method was developed, and this diagnostic technology was utilized to assess the condition of cables in service and retired cables within the power grid.
