Effective Mutual Authentication Scheme and Message Authentication for Internet of Things (IoT) using Fog Computing Technology

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly growing technology that is increasingly used in Intelligent Communication Systems (ICS). However, its high speed, heterogeneous devices, and unpredictable mobility can lead to quality reductions in communication due to high power utilization and delay. External threats from malicious activities can also cause wrong information to be broadcasted in the network. This article presents an effective Mutual Authentication Scheme and Message Authentication (EMMAFCT) using fog computing technology. The system model is constructed using elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with hash operation, and message authentication is achieved for both IoT devices and the fog server. This improves the quality of service (QoS) and reduces data loss, power utilization, and communication delays. The EMMA-FCT model outperforms previous methods like CIP-AAP and SEC-RMC in terms of accuracy and power utilization.
