Research on Carbon Emission Reduction and Carbon Peaking Strategies for Power Grid Enterprises

With the introduction of the "dual carbon" goals, carbon emission reduction has taken center stage across diverse sectors of society. As an indispensable element within the energy system, power grid enterprises are under intense scrutiny regarding the accounting and management of their carbon emissions. Presently, these enterprises have taken the initiative to implement a variety of measures aimed at controlling carbon emissions. However, there is a deficiency in existing research regarding a unified accounting system for quantifying the carbon emission reductions attributable to diverse carbon emission reduction technologies. Therefore, this paper first establishes a decarbonization model grounded in changes in physical quantities before and after the application of diverse technologies, alongside their associated carbon emission reduction factors. The research revolves around methods used to measure carbon emission reductions resulting from diverse carbon emission reduction measures, such as the enhancement of building energy efficiency and clean energy utilization, the control of SF6 emissions, and the adoption of clean energy within the transportation sector. Subsequently, it integrates theoretical methods, including the system evaluation model and the analytic hierarchy process, to develop a quantified rating model to evaluate the carbon emission effectiveness of carbon emission reduction technologies. This paper contributes to advancing the accounting and management of carbon emission data for power grid enterprises, while offering research methodologies and insights to aid power grid enterprises in their pursuit of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
