Using Geographic Information Systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Task Management

This paper discusses the features of using geographic information systems (GIS) for various tasks related to UAVs, in particular, for the task of distributing UAVs on the ground missions. GIS that are in the public use has been identified and their functionality has been reviewed. The most informative map objects from the point of view of planning of UAV flight have been identified and their approximate impact on the time and speed of UAV monitoring has been determined. This work generally examines the advantages and disadvantages of using GIS elements to plan of group of UAVs ground missions.
