Numerical Study of a Multi-winding Transformer’s Equivalent Circuit in the Case of Model Transformers

This paper deals with the investigation of accuracy of the current’s calculations and losses in the primary winding sections of multi-winding transformers. For this purpose, the three-winding model transformer, which has axial symmetry, was created. The chosen transformer design allows simplifying the electromagnetic field calculation to 2D problem statement instead of 3D. Short-circuit and load modes under different load parameters were investigated. The results of the calculation of the 2D electromagnetic field of the transformer using the finite element method and the connected electrical circuit are taken as accurate. They are compared with the calculation results obtained using the suggested method.
