Using Factor Analysis to Research Water Quality in a Python Programming Environment

In order to develop environmental protection measures, statistical tools are needed to provide an adequate assessment of environmental quality indicators. Factor analysis is one of such tools, giving the possibility to reduce the number of components and, as a consequence, to simplify the original problem. In this article, the method of factor analysis of a priori ranking and the method of multivariate linear regression were considered. The result of the work was the software that allows to reduce the number of data factors on the basis of experts’ estimates, to make regression equations of mutual influence of significant factors and on their basis to predict the values of the studied parameter. To demonstrate the work of the program, data of chemical-physical parameters of Laurel Creek water obtained in 2013 to 2016 in eight different zones were used.
