Determination of Superior Rice Varieties Using ROC-SMART

The selection of superior rice varieties that are adaptive to environmental conditions and in accordance with the preferences of farmers and consumer society is aimed at increasing crop productivity in the framework of self-sufficiency in food. The research objective was to determine the performance of the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) criteria weighting method and the SMART multi-criteria decision model method in the case of selecting 25 superior rice varieties with 9 criteria, i.e. plant age, plant height, grain shape, grain color, shedding, looseness, rice texture, average yield, and yield potential. The performance results of the ROC-SMART method obtained the Ciherang alternative as the most recommended variety, this is also in accordance with the recommended data reference from the Assessment Institute for Agricultural Technology (AIAT).
