Time and Accuracy Optimized IoT Based Elderly HealthCare System

This research study describes the concept of an elderly care system that includes a linked pillbox and a wearable device. The proposed device intends to alert the elderly people to take their medications on a regular basis by playing an audio alert in the pill box and sending an alert through the wearable device at the appropriate time. This study provides users with alerts by using a real-time clock. Since it is synchronized with the network time protocol, this real-time clock can function in all time zones. Further, an alert will be sent via the wearable device at the time of medication. This device will serve as a tracker and notification system. It also contains a 3-axis sensor, which aids in tracking the user's movement and orientation. The proposed model has a pulse oximeter and global positioning system to provide a full tracker. Using these two, caretakers can get more details about the elderly people. Generally, most of the elderly people prefer to be independent; in that case, if they fall, an alert message will be sent to their caretaker. The message will be sent as SMS to the registered mobile number. Pillbox needs an application to control it, and all these services require at least low-range internet. All data will then be transferred through the database and it can be accessed from anywhere.
