A Double-band Antenna of Microstrip Feature with Dual Rectangular Step-slots for Application in Wireless Systems

In this work, a dual-band antenna of microstrip in nature for usage in the domain of wireless communication is proposed. The band-dual characteristics in the final designed antenna are generated by etching out two rectangular step-slots. Slots are symmetrical in nature from the edges of sides which are non-radiating in nature. The developed antenna shows resonance at 1.86 and 2.40 GHz center frequency. The antenna that is developed here provides the flat and consistent gain profiles of 1.64 dBi and 1.65 dBi at the two resonance bands. Apart from this, the developed antenna here demonstrates the flat, appropriate and adequate efficiencies of 86% at the two resonance bands. The proposed antenna provides stable, consistent, and appropriate radiation patterns which enable it to be appropriately used in the wireless domains of PCS and WLAN respectively.
