Application of Power Internet of Things in Online Monitoring of Transmission Lines

With the global pressures on resources and the environment, coupled with advancements in science and technology, the demand for electricity continues to rise. As a result, the reliability of power supply becomes increasingly crucial, placing significant pressure on the operation of the power grid. Any failures or power outages in the distribution network can have severe consequences on people's lives and national economic development. This article focuses on the necessity of implementing online monitoring technology in transmission lines and presents an online monitoring algorithm based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The proposed algorithm's effectiveness is validated through experimental tests, demonstrating its practical value in ensuring the safe operation of transmission lines. The results indicate that the IoT gateway encryption method discussed in this article is secure and holds substantial application potential in guaranteeing the safety of transmission lines. By integrating IoT technology into the smart grid infrastructure, the online monitoring of distribution lines can be conducted more efficiently, providing greater convenience and speed for individuals. The introduction of IoT technology into the power system addresses long-standing issues within the smart grid and significantly enhances its security and reliability.
