Experimental Realization of a Single Layer Triple Band Microwave Network Cloak

This paper presents experimental verification of the scattering suppression of the conducting cylindrical object with a single layer and triple band microwave network cloak. The proposed cloak shows the reduction of 85% (at 3.4 GHz and 5.6 GHz) and 60% (at 4.5 GHz) in total scattering cross section of the conducting object under TM
z
illumination. A moderately sized conducting cylinder of radius $0.37 \lambda_{H}\left(0.22 \lambda_{L}\right)$ is wrapped by the air-spacer of width $0.05 \lambda_{H}\left(0.03 \lambda_{L}\right)$ and thin dielectric layer of width $0.004 \lambda_{H}\left(0.002 \lambda_{L}\right)$. The comparison of electric field distributions for free space, conducting object with and without cloak, also verifies the significant cloaking effect at the operating frequencies.
