Emperical Study of Energy-Efficient Routing Protocol for Internet of Things

The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) can be attributed to the convergence of the Internet, sensor networks, and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems. By enabling things to detect, reason, and interact with many objects, IoT can associate common objects and transform them into extraordinary entities. Similarly, RFID technology makes it possible to track a product and give it a unique ID. The Internet of Things (IoT) allows for constant, universal network connectivity between smart devices. Any large-scale network must have an information routing system in place to move data from source to sink. By offering little congestion, little packet loss, and a low delay rate, this network increases reliability. There isn't much network utilization because network equipment is frequently installed in multiple locations. Networks' use of energy is hence exceedingly inefficient. Energy utilization is inconsistent and there aren't enough energy resources to go around, which leads to the creation of new routing algorithms and protocols most of the time. The present paper focuses on a comparative study of different energy efficient routing mechanisms which can be used in IoT. The paper will examine routing methods combine both content and limitless routing based on the particular situation.
