DC-DC Converter for Fast Charging Li-Ion Battery in Electric Vehicle

The traditional method of charging an electric vehicle using an AC power supply can be a time-consuming process when done at home. However, with the proposed simulation module, charging times can be significantly reduced by making appropriate modifications to the existing system. This innovative approach aims to optimize the charging process, thereby enhancing the user experience and facilitating greater convenience. This is done by converting the AC supply into DC and giving the converted DC supply for charging the battery. Now the DC output is given to the DC-DC conversion circuit. The difficulty of DC-DC conversion is high compared to AC-AC conversion, with diodes and voltage bridges being less efficient for voltage reduction. More effective methods for providing a stable reference voltage and regulating voltage in circuits are voltage regulators and DC-DC converters , respectively. The proposed simulation module for electric vehicle charging utilizes SEPIC converter, which embraces advantages over other types of converters. With lower switching losses and reduced output voltage noise, the SEPIC model delivers a more efficient and stable performance.
