Enhancing Wireless Sensor Network Security using Modified ECC Algorithm

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) serve vital roles in various domains, such as environmental monitoring, healthcare, and industrial automation. However, the inherent vulnerabilities in WSNs expose them to security threats, compromising data integrity and confidentiality. In response to these challenges, this research article introduces an innovative approach employing the Modified Elliptic Curve Cryptography (MECC) algorithm to bolster WSN security. This study thoroughly investigates the unique security concerns that afflict WSNs, including resource limitations, dynamic network topologies, and constrained communication bandwidth. The MECC algorithm is introduced as a specialized cryptographic tool designed explicitly to tackle these specific challenges while preserving computational efficiency. It incorporates inventive enhancements to the conventional ECC method, fortifying its resilience against a range of security threats like node compromise, eavesdropping, and data tampering.
