Delay-Constrained Throughput Maximization for Hybrid Traffic in 6G Vehicular Networks

Addressing the challenge of enhancing delay-constrained throughput, a significant issue in the context of 6G vehicular communication networks where numerous Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle-to- Vehicle (V2V) links are present, is the focus of this research. The paper introduces a combined approach of power allocation and vehicular association strategies to tackle this problem. Initially, the problem is defined as the maximization of traffic throughput, taking into account both inter-channel interference and stochastic delay assurance. Subsequently, a power allocation strategy for each channel resource that is shared by a V2I and a V2V UE based on the theory of effective capacity. Following this, a scheme based on the Hungarian algorithm is put forward to determine the optimal UE association for each V2I and V2V link. The proposed scheme's effectiveness is confirmed through simulation results, which are compared with established baseline schemes.
