Ionospheric Amplification of Whistler Mode Waves for Reduction of Radiation Belt Particle Populations

Dedicated firing of rocket engines on satellites over ground VLF transmitters can be use to remove energetic electrons from radiation belts in the magnetosphere. This Rocket Exhaust Driven Amplification was demonstrated using a Cygnus burn over the Navy NML transmitter in North Dakota.
