Design of Hexagonal Pyramidal Conformal Array Antenna for S-Band Applications

This study examines the impact of coupling between elements of a hexagonal pyramidal conformal array antenna on the radiation patterns and individual coupling of those elements. The antenna array is in the shape of a truncated hexagonal pyramid, with a patch antenna on each of the six pyramidal faces and a cluster of seven antennae on the top. The effect of these interactions on the radiation patterns and performance of these antennas is studied in detail, with an emphasis on the radiation pattern and S

parameters. Return loss of -60dB is achieved which enhances the antenna’s overall efficiency and performance, leading to better communication range, higher data throughput, and improved signal reception.
