An Ultrawideband 5G Interference Mitigation Filter for C-Band Ground Based SATCOM Receivers

This paper presents the design and development of a compact and high Q microwave filter with stringent rejection and group delay requirement for C-Band ground receiver applications to mitigate terrestrial 5G interference. The proposed filter is designed using coaxial interdigital resonators with non-resonating nodes. The filter provides more than 60 dB rejection in the frequency band of 3.3-3.67 GHz and more than 30 dB rejection above 4.23 GHz. The designed filter is ultra-wideband with 13% fractional bandwidth at 3950 MHz. Filter is compact (185 mm length), light-weight (mass about 300 gms), and designed with WR-229 waveguide interface.
