Impact of Reflection & Leakage on Antenna Measurement in Compact Antenna Test Range

This paper presents the impact and mitigation of reflections and leakage on radiation characteristics of antenna characterized in compact antenna test range (CATR). Quietness in terms of amplitude and phase variation of the Quiet Zone (QZ) is very important to qualify an antenna test range. Reflection from chamber walls and leakage from feed & faulty components/ connectors greatly deteriorate the quality of Quiet Zone (QZ) and hence the measured radiation pattern and its associated parameters of AUT. To show the impact of two different situations reflection and RF leakage, we have measured the performance in four different conditions.
