Sentiment Analysis on Screen Time Usage of Children: A Comparative Analysis

Concerns have been expressed regarding the potential effects on children's emotional growth and wellbeing because of the widespread usage of digital gadgets among youngsters and their rising ubiquity. This investigation emphasises sentiment analysis to comprehend children's emotional reactions to screen time. It compares the effectiveness of Naive Bayes and VADER (which stands for Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner), two commonly used sentiment analysis algorithms, in evaluating children's feelings about their screen time experiences. Accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score are some of the assessment measures used to compare the sentiment analysis results from Naive Bayes and VADER. To understand the shortcomings and advantages of each approach in capturing the subtle sentiments stated by youngsters, qualitative analysis is also carried out. According to preliminary results, both Naive Bayes and VADER provide useful insights on children's attitudes towards the use of screen time.
