Facial Skin Analysis to Determine the Efficacy of Treatment

Facial skin analysis is a critical tool in industries, such as cosmetics, because it aids in determining facial skin color, which is a crucial consideration. Our research utilized the Individual Typology Angle (ITA) approach to accurately determine an individual’s skin color, categorizing it into six types: dark, brown, tan, intermediate, light, and very light. This provides a reference for assessing facial skin brightness. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of facial treatment based on ITA values derived from images obtained before and after the facial treatment procedure. A total of 30 images were used, comprising 15 images taken before and after the facial treatment of the 15 clients. The image-capture process was standardized using the services of a professional photographer. The study’s findings revealed that among the 15 clients, six individuals showed positive but not significant alterations in ITA values, five exhibited significant positive shifts in ITA values, three experienced negative but not significant changes in ITA values, and one participant underwent a notable significant negative change in ITA values. The combined findings from the 15 clients revealed that 11 clients who underwent treatment experienced an improvement in the brightness of their facial skin, as indicated by positive results. Meanwhile, four patients who were treated exhibited a reduction in skin brightness, marked by negative measurements. The study concluded that facial skin analysis is a valuable tool for assessing the efficacy of facial treatment.
