Two-Stage Robust Optimization for Integrated Energy Systems with Power-to-Gas and Demand Response

Integrated energy systems are an important means of energy management. The coordinated operation of various energy devices facilitates the efficient operation of the system on the supply side, while demand response enables peak shaving and valley filling of loads on the demand side. Meanwhile, the system’s operation is subject to various uncertainties. Therefore, this paper proposes a two-stage robust optimization scheduling strategy for integrated energy systems that considers power-to-gas (P2G) and demand response. The model of the integrated energy system incorporates the synergistic utilization of P2G devices and gas storage devices, as well as the engagement of flexible loads in demand response. The two-stage robust optimization method is employed to handle uncertainties associated with wind power and basic load during system scheduling, and the Column-and-Constraint Generation (C& CG) algorithm and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) condition are utilized for solving the optimization problem. Experimental results demonstrate that the integration of P2G devices and demand response enhances the system’s economic performance, while the robust optimization enables the system to withstand fluctuations caused by uncertainties.
